Carlozo & Company, P.A. CARLOZO & COMPANY, P.A. was founded with the goal of assisting our clients in every aspect of their financial lives. We’ve provided the most personal service available, thus earning a reputation for excellence in our industry. For each of our clients we strive to help create financial stability and security to provide financial independence.

As a partner in a relative large (50 person) CPA firm, Joe Carlozo became keenly aware of how easily clients could become over charged and under serviced. Seeing the opportunity to reach out to the small business owner, he took his background and experience into the marketplace on January 1, 1989, setting out to develop a firm, which was different from any other. This firm, as it turned out, would be the culmination of years of preparation. Its approach to doing business with its clients, as well as its associates would be refreshing and warmly welcome in today’s hectic, fast-paced business world.

Initially the practice began as a sole proprietorship. Right from the onset, Joe realized how important it was to implant his vision in the foundation of his practice. This, he believed would serve as a focus for the actions of the firm, as well as give added meaning to the efforts of the team of professionals he sought to assemble. With pen in hand, a MISSION STATEMENT was written in early January and later passed down with the incorporation of the practice on July 1, 1989 at which time CARLOZO & COMPANY, P.A. was formed.

Now in our 19th year of business, CARLOZO & COMPANY is a full service CPA firm offering a wide range of professional services at fees that we believe are fair and competitive. In addition to Joe Carlozo, our staff of 7 (includes 2 CPA’s and has a combined CPA firm experience in excess of 75 years. Located in the Kelly Building in Timonium, Maryland since 1990, we have slowly over the years expanded, knocking down walls and remodeling to the point where we now occupy 3,000 square feet of office space.

Primarily geared to servicing small closely held businesses (and their owners) with sales ranging from $500,000 to $50,000,000, a substantial part of our practice also involves tax preparation and planning for individual tax clients. Remarkably, the themes adopted in our MISSION STATEMENT back in 1989 remain just as relevant in today’s marketplace despite incredible changes in technology and our world in general. We always strive to do our best no matter what the task, and, to treat our clients the way we would like to be treated if we were the customer. In that regard, every client relationship regardless of size is important one, and we truly value our clients as an extended family.

As we look ahead, our goal is to build our firm to a 10 - 15 person organization making certain not to lose sight of our roots, nor the focus of our efforts, as spelled out in our MISSION STATEMENT. By the 2007 tax season, it is our goal to further expand our electronic tax filing capabilities to the point where 100% of the individual tax returns we prepare are in fact e-filed. We also seek to further develop our approach to servicing our business clients through a more comprehensive methodology that involves, among other things, working more closely in conjunction with our sister company, MASTER KEY FINANCIAL SERVICES, LLC. While the marketplace continues to change and evolve at an astounding rate, we firmly believe that today, more than ever, there is a critical need for a small, quality, local CPA firm that walks the extra mile for their clients, pays attention to detail, listens actively, is proactive rather than reactive, and gets the job done right in a timely manner.
